Eucalyptus smithii

    seedEnergy are producers of improved Eucalyptus smithii seeds. They manage orchards and trials in their own right and through collaboration with Australian and International partners.

  • Genetic material

    The Eucalyptus smithii program draws on 332 open pollinated families from range-wide native forest collections.

  • Seed orchard development

    A 1.5 ha clonal orchard was established in 2020 with a first harvest scheduled for 2024. Three mature seedling seed orchards have been evaluated, selectively thinned, and maintained for ongoing seed production.
